According to the district officials, the ongoing tower works are likely to be completed by June. Of the 182 towers, seven are coming up in Jiyyammavalasa mandal, 21 in Komarada, 52 in Gummalakshmipuram, 32 in Kurupam, 18 in Pachipenta, 21 in Saluru, 27 in Seethampeta, two in Makkuva, and one each in Bhamini and Parvathipuram Mandal<\/a>. The sites have already been handed over to the mobile net operators.

Collector Nishant Kumar reviewed the progress of the work with officials and telecom operators<\/a> here at the Collectorate on Tuesday.

The collector said Parvathipuram Manyam<\/a> district has been identified as one of the aspirational districts by the Union government. “We thank the Union ministry of communication for sanctioning these towers, which will go a long way in improving various services in the district, including the telemedicine facilities in remote villages. The initiative will take the fruits of technology to every hamlet in the district,” said Nishanth Kumar<\/a>.
