Paulraj was speaking at an industry event organised by
CUTS International<\/a>.

He said that India needs to overcome challenges in network infrastructure to realize the full potential of 5G--early, efficiently, pervasively, and inclusively.

Underlining the importance of data protection and privacy with respect to next-generation 5G technology, Arvind Mayaram, Former Finance Secretary of India and Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, said that the gamut of data generated by internet of things (IoT) devices needs to be kept secured.

He further said that the role of 5G has become even more important in bridging the digital divide in India, especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
