NEW DELHI: IT research and advisory firm Gartner<\/a> Monday said that 60% of digital businesses<\/a> would suffer major service failures by 2020 as they fail to beef up IT security to combat Cyber risk. As organizations transform into digital businesses, a lack of directly-owned infrastructure and services outside of IT's control will need to be addressed by Cybersecurity<\/a>, Gartner said in a statement.
\n\n\tThe US-based firm predicts that by 2020, 60% of the digital businesses will suffer major service failures and as a part of its finding, it has identified some of the key gaps to mitigate security risks.\n
\n\n\tGartner said that by 2018, 25%of corporate data traffic would flow directly from mobile devices to the cloud, bypassing enterprise security controls, and it requires organizations to address risks in technologies and assets they no longer own or control.\n
\n\n\tThe firm suggested that businesses need to detect and respond to malicious behaviors and incidents, even as the best preventative controls will not prevent all incidents.\n
\"Cybersecurity is a critical part of digital business with its broader external ecosystem and new challenges in an open digital world,\" Paul Proctor<\/a>, vice president and analyst at Gartner said.
\n\n\tOrganizations, according to Proctor will learn to live with acceptable levels of digital risk as business units innovate to discover what security they need and what they can afford.\n
