NEW DELHI: Bijender Yadav, directo<\/a>r of network planning at Sistema Shyam Teleservices, has taken over the responsibilities of the company’s chief technology officer (CTO), after the exit of Ashwini Khillan<\/a>, who has now joined American Tower Corporation (ATC<\/a>) as chief operating officer.

\nYadav is presently working as an acting CTO of Sistema Shyam, the company’s spokesperson confirmed. He has been associated with Sistema Shyam since August 2008 and was the number two network person after Khillan in the company.

\nThe company will take a formal decision on Yadav's appointment as the CTO during its board meeting on June 11, 2014.

Prior to MTS India<\/a>, Yadav served Idea Cellular for almost three years. He had also served Tata Teleservices and Bharti Airtel in the past. Khillan, on the other hand, confirmed his new stint as the COO.

\nIn this position, Khillan will be responsible for managing the overall operations for the company including, financial planning and strategic initiatives. “With the appointment of Ashwini Khillan, ATC India is strengthening both strategically and operationally,\" Amit Sharma, ATC's executive VP and president, Asia, said, in a statement.

\nSistema Shyam Teleservices, the Indian unit of Russia’s Sistema JSFC, , provides CDMA telecom services under the MTS brand. It currently provides services in Delhi, UP-West, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, West Bengal, Karnataka and Kerala.
