BSNL further asserted its plans for expanding its Bharat Fiber services in the next couple of months and to have an umbrella coverage of the broadband service across the country by March, 2020.

Ahead of the festive week, the government on Wednesday sent respite to the distressed telco while it approved a revival package for both BSNL and MTNL which included Rs 15,000 crore infusion via sovereign bonds, a voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) and allocation of 4G spectrum, besides the merger of the two loss-making state-run operators.
