The company’s estimates suggests that device base in UP is still limited to 58% while subscriber base is 68%. “This gives us scope to tap the rural market specially. Here the demand is more for basic feature phones and a long lasting battery backup. Our products are made accordingly”, said

\nThe company claims to be the second largest mobile devices selling company in India in terms of volume. Since UP provides considerable share of business, the company has made Lucknow as its first centre to unveil its new products.

Kumar<\/a> said that in rural UP, the demand is more for feature phones than smart phones as people have more demand for talk time than data. The company has launched products in both categories. Company claimed that the JV will revitalize the ‘Spice brand’ and give it a new avatar with a complete new proposition and identity. The new portfolio is targeting to tap the youth of India who like smart phones at lower price points and in more vibrant and colourful designs.

\nThe new portfolio comprises eight mobile devices including three smartphones and 5 feature phones.
