<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>NEW DELHI: American network solutions company Viavi<\/a> Solutions today said it is extending support to service providers<\/a> and network equipment<\/a> manufacturers. Viavi’s announcement comes in the wake of surge in data and network demand across the world as millions of citizens are forced to work from home amid the Covid-19<\/a> or coronavirus<\/a> pandemic. The pandemic has further led to governments across the World declaring ‘communications network’ as essential businesses.

Elaborating on the measures taken to battle the pandemic, Viavi said it is increasing shift rotations, providing its employees with personal protective equipment (PPE), mandating social distancing and is following all the local precautionary guidelines.

The company further said it is honouring all commitments from major customers under support contracts including maintaining continuity in frontline support and meeting performance goals.

Viavi is also providing 24x7 remote support for its ONMSi fiber monitoring system and is also offering remote configuration and deployment. It said its technicians will follow precautionary measures in case of on-site assistance.

Viavi is also providing remote technical and software support to its customers in order to ensure their R&D projects continue to deliver successfully.

In the North-America region the company is enhancing on-site calibration service which sends a mobile calibration lab to customer locations. In order to maintain continuity, Viavi said it is performing calibration overnight so that customers do not experience downtime.

The network solutions company is also providing complimentary remote access on supported instruments through at least June 30.

“Smart Access Anywhere – available on PC, iOS and Android – can reduce time spent on customer premises and prevent return visits. Supported instrument families include VIAVI OTDR, OneExpert (CATV and DSL), and T-BERD MTS,” said Viavi.
