The complaint was filed in the first week of April by Veerabhadra Reddy Malikireddy<\/a>, a director of Hogar Controls India Pvt Ltd<\/a>, who said that they have credible evidence indicating that the three former directors were behind the cyber attacks.
“In these activities, the three former directors conspired with the company’s former service partner based in Vietnam with an intention to sabotage the company's reputation and make undue profits by running a parallel business. They have caused loss and damaged reputation,” Reddy said in his complaint to police.
According to the complainant, between July and November 2021, there were multiple cyber attacks affecting the safety and security of its customers.
“The company had to spend a lot of money and energy to fix the issues every time an attack took place,” he said.
Hogar provides home automation services such as light sensors, touch panels, smart curtains, home automation safety kits including remote security cameras, smart locks, video door bells and alarms.
Cops have registered a case under IPC<\/a> sections 384, 406, 417, 419, 420, 426, 506, 120-b r\/w 34 and IT Act sections 66, 66-C and 66-D against the three former directors.
“We will have to gather some more details from the complainant before starting a detailed probe,” Cyber Crime ACP G Sridhar<\/a> said.
