<\/figure>Telcos<\/a> and Infrastructure Providers<\/a> (IP<\/a>) said they are working close with the Department of Telecommunications<\/a> (DoT<\/a>) to minimize the impact of Cyclone Jawad<\/a> on telecoms networks in affected states.\"We are taking every possible step to mitigate the cyclone\u2019s impact on the people in the costal districts of Andhra Pradesh (AP), Orissa and West Bengal and to ensure that the disruption in telecommunications and Internet services is restored at the earliest\", said SP Kochhar, director general of the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
The Delhi-based group further said that in the affected areas, intra circle roaming would be initiated for the mobile phone users to easily switch between operators.
