RAIPUR<\/a>: With an aim to connect 27 districts and 148 blocks through high definition video conferencing, Chhattisgarh<\/a> Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) launched Chhattisgarh State Wide Area Network 2.0 (CG SWAN 2.0) at the concluding ceremony of Rajyotsav on late Saturday evening.<\/p>\n \n\tCG SWAN would be instrumental in transmitting voice, data and video traffic between all departments in the state. This network would act as a lifeline for 77 naxal-affected police stations and CRPF camps.<\/p>\n Talking to TOI, Chhattisgarh IT<\/a> principal secretary Aman Kumar Singh said, \"The launch of CG SWAN 2.0 is a big milestone in digital infrastructure in the state where the challenging work was accomplished in a span of six months.\" During the inauguration, Union home minister Rajnath Singh<\/a> interacted with officers and public representatives at district and block level and congratulated them on Rajyotsav.<\/p>\n \n\tHe also interacted with Sukma district nagar panchayat chairperson Lakshmibhai Kashyap. Kashyap expressed her gratitude on interacting with dignitaries from a distance of 400 kilometers in the midst of naxal-affected Sukma district. She thanked chief minister Raman Singh for providing such high class digital infrastructure in even remote parts of the state.<\/p>\n CG SWAN project under e-governance initiative of Government of Chhattisgarh is a state-wide IT network that would provide government services to be delivered to citizens. This includes e-district, crime and criminal tracking network system (CCTNS), city WiFi<\/a>, Lok Seva Kendras, Common Service Centres (CSC), Chhattisgarh Online Information for Citizen Empowerment (CHOiCE), Chhattisgarh Geographical Information System (GIS) and Chhattisgarh State Data Centre.<\/p>\n \n\tCGSWAN 2.0 provides video conferencing facility across all districts and blocks of the tate with 150 concurrent sessions which can be extended upto 200 concurrent sessions.
