BENGALURU<\/a>: Salil Parekh<\/a>, who took over the reins at Infosys<\/a>, India’s second-largest software exporter, on Tuesday exhorted employees to actively participate in the technology<\/a> disruption to help the company achieve growth and stay relevant.

\n“For me,
Infosys<\/a> represents a very proud and successful company… I am excited to lead the company as it looks to help clients reinvent themselves for a digital world,” Parekh said in the video address broadcast to Infosys employees on Tuesday.

A number of those who viewed Parekh’s introductory video, told
ET<\/a>, that it was Infosys chairman Nandan Nilekani<\/a> who introduced the new CEO to employees. Parekh then went on to share his views on the future course of action for the software exporter that battled a prolonged spell of management upheaval in 2017 including the abrupt exit of former chief executive Vishal Sikka<\/a> in August.

\nParekh, 53, said he is focused on the future of the $10.2-billion firm and is thrilled by its potential to grow in a digital world. “There is a lot of
technology<\/a> disruption and each employee has a role to play to survive the continuous technology disruptions,” he said.

\nFormerly a senior executive at French outsourcing major Capgemini, Parekh, received a rousing welcome at the Infosys campus, with live tweets from the company announcing his arrival. A few employees took selfies with the new boss while former Infosys CEO and cofounder Kris Gopalakrishnan tweeted his best wishes to Parekh on his first day. Parekh is expected to attend meetings with senior executives and also attend the company’ strategy session later this month.

\nSikka, Infosys’ first non-founder CEO, quit after a long-drawn public spat between the board and founders of the company over allegations of poor corporate governance.
