Billionaire Elon Musk’s Starlink is in talks with Vodafone Group Plc<\/a> to expand its satellite internet offering in the UK, The Telegraph reported on Sunday citing unnamed sources.

Starlink has been in the lookout for setting up ground station infrastructure and high-frequency spectrum to expand the capacity of its satellite service, the newspaper said.

“Regarding satellite spectrum, we can confirm we are in talks with multiple operators. We’re close to striking a deal,” a
Vodafone<\/a> spokesperson informed the publication.

Starlink, however, did not respond to The Telegraph’s queries.

The daily newspaper further cited a filing of Vodafone with UK regulator Ofcom saying that the British telecoms operator is open to tying up with satellite companies who want to its licensed spectrum for use in gateway links to their satellites.
