\nSrinivas, along with UB Pravin Rao, was appointed as president of the company in January this year. Under Srinivas were units like financial services, insurance, manufacturing, engineering services, energy and communications, Infosys Public Services, Lodestone, strategic global sourcing, marketing and alliances. As president, he reported to CEO and managing director SD Shibulal.

\nAmong internal candidates, both Srinivas and Rao were said to be in the fray for the post of Infosys CEO. With the exit of Srinivas, Rao has become the frontrunner in the race.

\nOn his resignation, Srinivas said, \"My tenure at Infosys has been one of my most rewarding experiences, and I am proud to have contributed to the best growth story in the industry. I wish the Board and Infosys the best of success in the future.”
