<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>NEW DELHI: Taiwanese fabless chipmaker MediaTek Wednesday launched the Dimensity 9000<\/a>+ system-on-chip (SoC), the successor to Dimensity 9000 released in December 2021, with support for sub-6GHz 5G connectivity<\/a>, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E<\/a>.

MediaTek said flagship smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9000+ chipset will be released in the third quarter (Q3) of 2022.

The octa-core Dimensity 9000+ integrates Armv9 CPU architecture with a 4nm process, combining one ultra Cortex-X2 core at up to 3.2GHz with three super Cortex-A710 cores and four efficiency Cortex-A510 cores.

The integrated LPDDR5X supports 8MB L3 CPU cache and 6MB of system cache. Additionally, the chipset integrates MediaTek’s fifth-generation Application Processor Unit (APU 5.0) for AI computing capabilities.

The Dimensity 9000+ supports 144Hz WQHD+ displays or 180Hz FullHD+ displays. Furthermore, MediaTek said its latest Wi-Fi display technology can support up to 4K60 HDR10+ video.

While IDC predicts that one in two devices shipped in India this year will support 5G, Counterpoint Research puts it at just less than 40% of the overall shipments. At the end of March, 5G smartphones were 29% of total smartphone shipments, according to Counterpoint. India is set to auction 5G spectrum starting late July, with services expected to start rolling out by end of the year.<\/p><\/div>
