"Mobile
NEW DELHI: Handset makers such as Foxconn, Wistron, Xiaomi, Dixon, Oppo, Vivo, and Lava are yet to get permissions from state governments on restarting manufacturing, despite having submitted their detailed plans last week.

The
handset industry was thrown into more confusion, with the likes of market leader Xiaomi and Realme shelving their plans to start sale on ecommerce platforms from April 20 after a home ministry notification on Sunday made it clear that non-essentials such as smartphones, can’t be sold online till the nationwide lockdown continues.

Last week’s home ministry notification had appeared to clear the way for handsets to be sold via platforms such as Flipkart, Amazon and Mi.com, prompting smartphone makers such as Xiaomi and Realme to start taking orders for sales starting April 20. Realme had even planned to launch its latest smartphone series, Narzo, in India on April 21, but that may have to be postponed.
