“The Company, along with its material subsidiary,
HTL Limited<\/a>, has received the Purchase Orders<\/a> aggregating to ~Rs.202.60 Crores, consisting Purchase Orders of ~Rs.167.60 Crores from Reliance Retail Limited & Reliance Projects & Property Management Services Limited for supply of Optical Fibre Cables (\"OFC\") and of ~Rs.35 Crores from one of the overseas customer for supply of various types of OFC & its related accessories,” the company said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

The deals will be executed by March 2023, the filing added.

“In comparison to fibre, microwave is cheaper, scalable option and can be deployed quickly. Conventional microwave wireless-based backhaul cannot support 5G’s multi-Gigabit speed requirements. This necessitates OFC (optical fibre cable) deployment to enable 5G networks,” said T R Dua, Director-General of DIPA in a letter to telecom secretary K Rajaraman.<\/p><\/div>
