IO, a product by HFCL<\/a>, has deployed a second so-called ‘PM-WANI<\/a> Village’ network in the Baidebattu village located in Karnataka. The network will provide wi-fi-based internet access to some 9,000 residents of the otherwise poorly connected village, the company said.
The company board will meet on July 12, to consider and approve the results for the quarter ending on 30 June 2021, it said in a regulatory filing
Shares of the telecom solution provider surged 16 per cent to Rs 84.2 on Monday. However, it was trading at Rs 83.75 at 10.10 am. BSE Sensex<\/a> was trading at 300.47 points or 0.57 per cent higher at 52,785.14 at the same time. The counter settled at Rs 72.5 on Friday.
HFCL is a leading provider of wi-fi solutions and one of the first providers of TIP<\/a> OpenWiFi-compliant hardware. The company is likely to be a big player in the 5G spectrum.
Shares of HFCL have been on a roll in the last three months. It has surged over 225 per cent during the period. It has gained over 80 per cent in the last one month.
The outdoor network uses IO by HFCL’s OpenWiFi-compliant access point hardware as well as point-to-point radios and solar powered PoE devices.
According to the reports, HFCL is among the two dozen telecom gear makers, which will reap benefits of Rs 12,195 crore production linked incentive scheme for the sector.
