NEW DELHI: Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei<\/a> and telecoms operator China Mobile<\/a> said they have jointly deployed manufacturing solutions powered by 5G and Mobile Edge Computing<\/a> (MEC) at Haier<\/a>’s smart factories<\/a>.

The manufacturing solutions, in particular, leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and machine vision, and are applicable to various manufacturing scenarios where they can perform multiple functions.

Haier has launched the technologies at seven smart factories in China and plans to expand the implementation in 20 factories by the end of 2022, as per an official statement.

Huawei on its part is expected to help Haier deploy these 5G solutions and transform 100 of its manufacturing facilities globally within five years.

The companies — Huawei, China Mobile, and Haier also intend to offer the technologies to local manufacturers and abroad.
