Telecom minister
Ravi Shankar Prasad<\/a> on Monday said that the government had decided to give 5G spectrum for trials to all players.

5G trials will be done with all vendors and operators… We have taken an in-principle decision to give 5G spectrum for trials,” Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters Monday.

The trials are expected to be held in January 2020 and will be followed by auctions later on in the year in which the 5G spectrum will make its debut. Telcos have been urging the government to relook at the spectrum pricing but so far , the government has not budged from its stance.
