NEW DELHI: International Chamber of Commerce Chairman Sunil Bharti<\/a> Mittal will on Tuesday attend the Annual Heads of the State (HOS) Meet on Tuesday, which is also being attended by US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Brazilian President Michel Temer among other key global leaders.

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has extended this invitaion to ICC<\/a> for becoming the first non-government entity to be accorded a permanent seat as an observer at the UNGA. ICC had received this status in December 2016 during Mr Mittal’s first year of Chairmanship.

\n\"UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres invoked a significant exception to past practice while inviting Mittal to the Annual HOS Meet, which is strictly reserved for Governments,\" according to an official statement.

\n“It’s a great honor for ICC to be a part of such high level deliberations at the UN, and I extend my sincere gratitude to the UN Secretary General for this rare recognition. ICC remains committed to promote the cause of responsible business and will continue to contribute as a Global citizen to achieve the sustainable development goals identified by the UN,\" Mittal, who is also Bharti chairman, said in a statement.

\nAt the meet, Miital will highlight the importance of further opening up international trade and facilitating free movement of people during his interaction with the global leaders.
