The letter comes ahead of the ITU-led World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) 2023 to be held in Dubai later this year. GSMA<\/a> also sought India's support for the band at international forums such as Asia Pacific Telecommunity Group and WRC 2023.
London-based GSMA represents more than 700 telecom service providers worldwide including Reliance Jio<\/a>, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea in India.
\"We also look forward to further engaging with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to share our views and priorities of the mobile industry<\/a>, and to support India in taking positive steps at WRC-23 to safeguard the future of 5G services for the benefit of billions,\" the letter added.
This is GSMA's second letter in three months, followed by its top executive calling upon Vaishnaw last month to identify the 6425-7125 MHz range frequencies for wireless services, and seeking country's support at regional and international levels.
