NEW DELHI: Here's another attempt at offering the cheapest possible smartphone in India. Jaipur-based Docoss has announced an Android-powered smartphone priced at Rs 888. Called Docoss X1<\/a>, the smartphone has made a silent entry, unlike Freedom 251<\/a>'s launch which was a grand affair.

\nThe company had just setup a website (first uncovered by Phoneradar) and is taking pre-orders for the smartphone with a promised delivery date of May 2 and cash on delivery facility.

\nThe amateurish-looking Docoss' website asks buyers to book the smartphone via an SMS. Even a real photograph of the phone is missing. On its social media platforms, the company has requested buyers not to make calls on the number given for SMS. There is also very little information about the company on the website.

\nIt appears Docoss is too secretive about its brand and product as it tries to win the confidence of consumers with cash on delivery payment mode.

\nThe Docoss X1 smartphone promises a 4-inch screen, 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor with 1GB and 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB. It runs Android KitKat and is powered by a 1,300mAh battery along with a 2MP rear and VGA front camera. It is a dual SIM 3G smartphone.
