NEW DELHI: India’s tablet market grew by 14.7% on-year with shipments totaling 2.8 million units in 2020 after consecutively declining for four years, according to data from the IDC<\/a> Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker, February 2021 release.

Further, the consumer segment grew 59.8% on-year but the commercial shipment declined 14.3% on-year as government projects were postponed to 2021.

<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>The market which witnessed significant growth owing to e-learning demand was led by China’s Lenovo<\/a> which observed a 6.6% on-year growth in shipments. Its consumer segment grew 153% on-year but the commercial segment declined 15.1% during the same period.

Interestingly the budget segment ($100<200) accounted for more than 50% of shipments in India. The $300+ also witnessed an impressive growth of 72.3% on-year, supported by Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and
iPad<\/a> 10.2-inch.

Korea’s
Samsung<\/a> held a share of 32% in 2020 and topped the consumer segment with shipments growing by 157% over 2019.

Apple<\/a> overtook iBall to emerge as the third-largest tablet player. Its shipments grew 13% on-year. Despite suffering from a supply crunch, it gained market share in the second half owing to new launches.

iBall dropped to the fourth spot as it saw a 69.9% decline in its shipments from the previous year.

Huawei<\/a> ranked fifth for the full year of 2020 as shipments tripled from the previous year. The online traction with suitable price points helped the vendor for impressive growth.

新德里:印度的平板电脑市场同比增长14.7%,出货量总计280万辆2020年连续四年下降,数据显示国际数据公司(IDC)全球季度个人计算设备跟踪器,2021年2月发布。
