\nAs per the company, products part of Intel's In-Vehicle Solutions are designed to enable car makers and their suppliers to more quickly and easily deliver in-vehicle experiences that consumers demand, while reducing the cost of developing them. The products include a range of compute models, an integrated software stack of operating systems in addition to middleware, and development kits.
\n
\nIntel says it expects the standardized platform approach for automotive technology to shorten infotainment development by more than 12 months and reduce costs up to 50%. The first available products are designed for IVI systems with advanced driver assistance capabilities, with future products geared for advanced experiences such as self-driving cars.

Intel technology is currently being used in
BMW<\/a>'s Navigation System professional for all its models, Infiniti InTouch infotainment system in Infinity Q50 and the Driver Information System<\/a> in the 2015 Hyundai<\/a> Genesis.

\nThrough the deployment of this technology, cars will be able get acquainted with their drivers in a better manner and adapt to their needs. The focus will be on safety and efficiency.
\n
\nSome of the projects from Intel in the field include My Connected Car Research Project and Personal Vehicle Experience Project. The Personal Vehicle Experience Project aims at developing automotive technology that allows cars to be more adaptive, predictive and interact with drivers and surroundings.

Intel Capital<\/a> is investing in auto-tech companies. ZMP, Japan-based developers of an autonomous driving platform and vehicles connected with sensors, radars and cameras, has received funding<\/a> from the $100 million Intel Capital Connected Car Fund<\/a>, which was established in 2012. The fund has also invested in CloudMade<\/a>(US), Mocana (US) and Tobii Technology (Sweden).

\nIntel also announced it will work with its subsidiary Wind River, Green Hills Software, Mobica, Symphony Teleca, QNX and XSe to offer solutions and services to automakers adopting Intel In-Vehicle Solutions.

\nIn addition to the announcement, Intel also informes that its Internet of Things group achieved revenue of $482 million in the first quarter, up 32% year on year due to strong demand for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems.
