COIMBATORE: With South India contributing 35% of its total business revenue, Intex Technologies<\/a>, a leading domestic consumer electronics company, on Wednesday said it plans to open more Smartworld<\/a> stores in the region.

\"In South India,Intex<\/a> Smartworld has already established its footprint in Andhra Pradesh<\/a>, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and the company wants to tap the huge potential in the region and will open nearly 40 stores in 2018-2019,\" the company's branded Retail DGM,Vishal Malik said. Here to open a Smartworld store, the first in the city, the fourth in Tamil Nadu and 10th in South India, Malik said that the national count of such stores have crossed 130 in 80 cities in 25 states.<\/p>\n

Being a key market, Intex<\/a> would scale up its presence in Tier II cities in south India, he said adding that Intex was looking to expand its footprint beyond metros into smaller cities and towns to reach end customers of this mature market.
