Both these operators - Bharti Airtel<\/a> and Reliance Jio<\/a> - have chosen Keysight<\/a> network test hardware products, including software and leveraging company’s expertise to equip their design and test labs for their fourth-generation (4G<\/a>) technology supporting both FDD and TDD plans, the person said.

\nBharti Airtel and Jio are betting big on fourth generation (4G) technology for high-speed data services and are set to compete with each other fiercely for market dominance in India.
\n
\nThe former has launched services at around 300 cities and towns while Jio with an estimated Rs 100,000-crore investment plans to go pan-India, covering nearly 5,000 cities and towns with 4G services in December this year.
\n
\nBoth telcos however declined to comment on partnership with Keysight<\/a>.

\nIn November, last year Keysight spun-off from Agilent Technologies, and has recently acquired mobile device and network testing systems company Anite which is expected to strengthen Keysight's wireless portfolio.

Earlier, Jio had tested with Keysight’s 4G equipment and software services for their base station design and development, another market insider said, adding that it later went ahead with the US company for its LTE<\/a> Conformance Test System to conform to Jio’s devices and dongles to the 3GPP telecom standards before they get deployed onto RJio 4G network when it gets launched.

\nRJio also invested on the 4G LTE<\/a> device manufacturing test solution wherein it could be able to test third-party devices independently for mass rollout.

\nBharti Airtel, while setting up a 4G technology test lab in Gurgaon called Centre of Excellence, also chose Keysight’s core solutions and the latter is providing support services.
\n
\nThe Keysight equipment allows service providers to check their networks for standards such as sensitivity, power, noise, transmission loss, load conditions, service quality to ensure such deployments meet desired parameters for subscribers.

\nThe partnership also extends to providing training services to both operators on wireless domains and gear testing during installation and deployment.
\n
\nThe company that has no apparent competitor offering end-to-end services in India has an edge to test 4G networks and devices manufactured by ODM companies for mass deployment and also engage with mobile chipset makers for assessment at the designing stage.

\nKeysight works in the telecom sector and offers a full range of design, test and management solutions that span across cellular technologies such as 2G, 3G, HSPA and 4G-Long Term Evolution (LTE) and 1xEV-DO. It also works closely with the mobile manufacturers in the country.
