\nRanjit Kumar, who was regional manager for Haryana and Rajasthan, has been made head of channel where he will grow business with various sales channels, swapping roles with Ashutosh Pant. LG India is changing its smartphone chief by moving business head Deepak Jasrotia as regional manager for Punjab. The post remains vacant and the company is looking at hiring a person from the industry to turnaround the smartphone business, which currently has just 3-4 per cent share of the market. Ki-Wan wants the mobile business to become a significant revenue generator and is eyeing around an 10 per cent share.

\nThe Korean major has created an ‘excellence core group’, which will be headed by H Lee and will comprise all the business heads. This group will make all day-today decisions and enable quicker reaction to market changes, industry executive said. The company is also empowering the regional heads to make all marketing and sales decisions.

\n\"The regional managers can seek quick help from the excellence core group. Under the new structure, the business heads will play more strategic roles in the company and regional managers are expected to drive sales,\" said an industry executive.

\nA senior industry executive said LG India has swapped territories of some of the regional managers. \"After a long time, LG has empowered its regional managers to take decisions. Such autonomy may accelerate growth. It was such a strategy which had helped the company to gain share in the early years,\" he said.
