<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>NEW DELHI: MediaTek<\/a> on Friday launched the T800 chipset for Industrial Internet of Things<\/a> (IIoT), Machine-to-Machine (M2M), and always-connected PCs with support for both sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G<\/a> networks.

The Taiwanese chipmaker claims that the T800 chipset supports up to 7.9Gbps download speeds and up to 4.2Gbps upload speeds. Additionally, it supports both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G networks, along with 4CC-CA, and dual 5G SIM.

“Consumers today want the ability to access 5G speeds from anywhere. MediaTek’s newest 5G chipset solution allows end users to enjoy high-speed, low-latency 5G wherever they are – offering true computing freedom,” said JC Hsu, Corporate Vice President at MediaTek.

The chip<\/a>set solution features a thin modem with a fully integrated 3GPP Release-16 5G cellular modem, FR1 Transceivers, an Envelope Tracking (ET) chip, MLNA, a GNSS receiver and associated PMICs. The thin modem is built on a 4nm process node and also integrates PCIe + USB host interfaces, plus other input\/output options, according to a statement by the company.

MediaTek however did not disclose details on the chipset’s availability.
