It’s not been an easy run for Microsoft<\/a> when it comes to smartphones<\/a>. The much-derided acquisition of Nokia<\/a> in 2014 failed to get things going and as of Q2, 2015, the global market share for Windows<\/a> Phone powered smartphones was a weak 2.6 per cent (as reported by IDC).

But Microsoft isn’t quite ready to thrown in the towel. These are the first phones with Windows 10<\/a> – with the promise of unifying the computing experience across different screens.

The flagship Lumia<\/a> devices<\/a> can power a full Windows PC experience, when connected to a display, keyboard and mouse (using a dock). When you use a phone this way, all the keyboard shortcuts you’re used to on a PC will work. And to top it all, the phone continues to stay functional as a phone, even while it’s powering a full Windows experience on a separate monitor.
