The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum<\/a>, Panchkula, directed Home Shop 18 and Karbonn<\/a> mobile company to refund the price of a defective mobile phone, and pay Rs4,000 as mental agony and harassment to an Ambala resident. Ram Nath, a resident of Mohra village in Ambala district, informed the forum in his complaint that he had purchased a Karbonn K9 smart mobile handset online from Home Shop 18 on 14 June last year for a sum of Rs3,699 with a one -year warranty.<\/p>\n

\n\tNath further informed the forum that after a few days, the mobile handset started giving a problem, and Nath approached Karbonn Mobile Pvt Limited, Sector -20, Panchkula, on 3 August last year. The service engineer at the centre informed Nath that the touch of the mobile needed replacement and asked him to come after 20 days. After 15 days, Nath contacted the service centre to know the status of his mobile handset, who stated that spare parts of the set were not available, and suggested him to call after 20 days. Then, after 20 more days, service centre representatives informed Nath that the touch had still not been provided by the company, and that he had to wait for some more time, but they assured him that they would contact him as soon as the touch was available, but after that there was no response. Ram Nath then approached the consumer forum, which sent a notice to Home Shop 18, North India Top Company Ltd (Logistics), and Karbonn Pvt Ltd, to appear before the forum, but none of them appeared.<\/p>\n
