“由于政府的决定,MTNL一直在登记亏损。我们的要求是政府应该为亏损承担责任,并为组织的复兴注入资本。”MTNL Mazdoor Sangh召集人兼秘书长达拉姆·拉杰·辛格说。
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam有限公司自2009-10年度以来,MTNL一直处于亏损状态,此前该公司被要求为移动无线电波支付1.1亿卢比,并因第二次工资调整导致向员工支付奖金而产生了额外费用。它的总债务现在超过了1500亿卢比。
这次抗议活动是由MTNL工会论坛协会要求政府注入25亿卢比用于网络升级,退还公司支付的237.1亿卢比频谱利息,并进一步提供600 - 700亿卢比,通过扩大授权资本基础来帮助其降低融资成本。

Its total debt stands at over Rs 15,000 crore now.<\/p> The protest was organised by the 'Forum of MTNL Unions<\/a> and Associations' which is demanding that the government should infuse Rs 2,500 crore for upgradation of network, refund Rs 2,371 crore interest the firm paid on spectrum payments and further Rs 6,000-7,000 crore to help it reduce finance cost by expanding authorised capital base.<\/p> The company narrowed its loss in the first quarter ended June 30, 2017 to Rs 703.17 crore from Rs 718.02 crore posted in the same period a year ago. The state-run firm posted standalone net loss of Rs 2,941 crore at the end of 2016-17.<\/p> The total income of the company in April-June 2017 shrinked to Rs 812.66 crore from Rs 881.93 crore a year ago. The total income of MTNL at the end of 2016-17 was Rs 3,552.46 crore.<\/p> Singh<\/a> said the employees have demanded merger of 78.2 per cent dearness allowance in the basic pay with effect from January 1, 2007 at par with that of its sister concern BSNL.<\/p> \"We are only getting benefit of 68.8 per cent dearness allowance. We have demanded the government to neutralise it and make it 78.2 per cent,\" Singh said.<\/p> MTNL employees have demanded that casual workers of the Department of Telecom<\/a> (DoT) who were absorbed by the firm should be allowed to cultivate casual service benefit.<\/p> The protesters also demanded that pension for DoT employees, who were absorbed by MTNL, should be revised and made at par with that of the DoT employees. <\/div><\/div>
