“Silence Unknown Callers<\/a> is designed to give you more privacy and control of your incoming calls,” WhatsApp said in a blog Tuesday, adding that the feature helps to automatically screen out spam, scams, and calls from unknown people for increased protection.

These calls will not ring the user’s phone, but will be visible in the call list, said WhatsApp,

The instant messaging application has also rolled out a ‘Privacy Checkup<\/a>’ feature, which will guide users step-by-step through important privacy settings to help them choose the right level of protection.

“Selecting ‘Start checkup’ in your Privacy settings will navigate you through multiple privacy layers that strengthen security of your messages, calls, and personal information,” said WhatsApp.

WhatsApp also recently launched Chat Lock<\/a> to protect sensitive chats behind a password, Disappearing Messages<\/a> that vanish, screenshot blocking for View Once<\/a>, and the ability to keep online presence private.
