\"\"PUNE: The NASSCOM<\/a> Foundation today launched a learning centre in Pune, in collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) India . This is in line with the Government's National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM<\/a>) which aims to have atleast one digitally literate person in each household by 2020. With the launch of the HPE Future Classroom, PUNE now has 25 NDLM centres, the highest in any city across India.

With this partnership and through the HPE Future Classrooms program, we are committed to leverage our technology leadership towards the social transformation taking place in the country.\" \n

\n\n\tPune has taken an innovative route towards digital literacy, setting up these centers in NGOs, PMC (Pune Municipal Corporation) run schools, digital mobile literacy buses and now, a containerised solution. \n

\n\n\tWith strong focus on becoming completely digitally literate city by 2020, Pune now not only has the highest number of centres in the country. It has also taken the most innovative route to digital literacy by having these centres in non-governmental organisations (NGOs), PMC Schools, Digital Literacy Mobile Buses and now this containerised solution with HPE. NASSCOM Foundation also ran a successful volunteering campaign where through the NDLM MyKartavya app, over 1000 citizens, were able to train their household help, security guards, drivers and other people from nearby communities on digital literacy. \n

\n\n\tGanesh Natarajan, Chairman, NASSCOM Foundation said, \"NASSCOM Foundation is attempting to close the digital divide by helping individuals harness the power of smart devices like computers and mobile phones and fully enjoy the benefits that come along with the Government's Digital India initiative. It gives me great pleasure that Pune has become the leading light for this initiative by having crossed a landmark of 25 centres and we are hoping to double this number by the end of the year.\" \n

\n\n\tThe HPE Future Classroom is an easy to deploy containerised classrooms that has 16+ cloud-enabled computer systems. Additionally, the HPE hardware and devices deployed will be supported by a suite of software solutions allowing students and teachers to access it at their homes via the Internet. These comprise an integrated user portal and dashboard to register and on-board new users, a VideoBook, which is a learning solution that sources relevant and contextual videos in line with the to make learning an immersive experience, among others. \n
