“Reviewed the final draft of the much-awaited National Digital Communications Policy 2018 with colleagues in the department. We hope to make it available for public feedback soon,” Sinha tweeted Wednesday.
Led by Sinha, the telecom department’s top officials including telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan and special secretary N Sivasailam discussed the draft provisions of the yet to be launched national policy.
The new policy is expected to contain a wide range of industry goals to meet the national digital targets with a special focus on futuristic broadband technologies such as the fifth-generation (5G) technology as well as Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence.
“The new policy will be forward-looking and current challenges of new technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence will be taken care of,” Sinha earlier told ETTelecom.
