Under the deal, Nokia will supply its AirScale<\/a> 5G<\/a> RAN portfolio of products to enable Elisa in digitizing Finland, Nokia said.
The AirScale 5G Radio Access portfolio will further help Elisa provide enhanced mobile connectivity, as well as additional use cases such as Massive IoT and Ultra-Reliable Low Latency services (URLLC), Nokia said.
The deal will particularly pay attention to mobile network technology migration to ensure that the radios support both 5G and 4G subscribers across the country, Nokia said.
Notably Elisa is planning to phase out its 3G network by 2023 to support its migration towards 5G services.

The telecoms gear maker on Tuesday bagged a 5G RAN deal from Britain’s telecom operator.
“With more than 150 commercial engagements underway, its 5G solutions, software and services allow Nokia customers to take advantage of the promise of this next generation of network technology,” Nokia said.
