Spotted by Lets Go Digital, this technology will also support bank-related activities which either means that the e-SIM acts as an additional security layer eliminating risk of data theft or it plans to set up its own payment service.

As mentioned above, if HMD does introduce this feature, it will be joining Apple and Google. Another development that was recently reported to be in the works fromMD-owned
Nokia<\/a> is a foldable phone.

According to a recent report by Nokiamob,
HMD Global<\/a> is working on a foldable smartphone. This handset is said to resemble the Motorola Moto Razr and offer a clamshell design. The report suggests that it may be launched in either late 2020 or early 2021. No details in terms of specs were revealed.

For the uninitiated, HMD is expected to launch Nokia 8.2 5G, Nokia 5.2, Nokia 1.3 and a special Nokia ‘Original' series phone in Barcelona between February 24-27. The Nokia 8.2 5G is expected to be the costliest at a price of EUR 459 (approximately Rs 36,000). Nokia 1.3 is rumoured to be priced around EUR 79 (approximately Rs 6,200). The said ‘Original’ phone is the same that was first teased by HMD's chief product officer, Juho Sarvikas earlier this month. Through a tweet, Sarvikas hinted that a new Nokia “original” phone at the Chinese New Year but so far we haven’t heard any official announcement and the report suggests that it is because of the current outbreak of the Coronavirus.
