Diwali is one of the biggest festivals in India and every year there are a number of offers and schemes launched by brands to entice consumers around this time. Taking a different approach, Oppo<\/a> has launched a Diwali limited edition variant of its mid-range smartphone – Oppo F1s.

\nWhat’s New<\/strong>
The limited edition variant of Oppo F1s stands out from the crowd with a golden Diwali diya etched on the back panel. Even the Oppo logo on the rear has the same golden finish as the diya to add to the overall look. On the sides of the diya are laser etched signatures of Hrithik Roshan<\/a> and Sonam Kapoor<\/a> – the brand ambassadors of Oppo. The limited edition variant only comes in gold finish. Internally, Oppo has customized the icons with a Diwali theme look to match with the exterior finish. There are also pre-loaded wallpapers of the brand ambassadors on the phone.

\nHardware & Performance<\/strong>
\nOppo F1s runs on an octa core Mediatek MT6750 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and has a 3,075mAh battery. As with the standard edition Oppo F1s, the performance is great with the phone managing to play all the games we tried on it as well as 4k videos. Battery backup is of one full day on normal usage but the lack of fast charging would have been a welcome addition on this limited edition version. You get 24GB of space for use along with a dedicated micro SD slot for expansion. Thanks to the 3GB RAM, switching between apps was seamless and we did not notice any slowdown even with over 15 apps running in the background.

\nCameras<\/strong>
\nThere is no change in the cameras on the limited edition – it comes with the same fantastic 16MP wide angle front selfie camera that is amongst the best we have seen on a smartphone. The rear camera is now slightly improved from the standard edition F1s – it shows less visible noise indoors and captures sharp details. This was one of our complaints’ with the F1s, and it is great to see that the issue has been worked on in the limited edition.

\nDesign & Display<\/strong>
\nOther than the change on the rear panel, the overall aesthetics of the F1s Diwali limited edition remains unchanged. You get a vibrant 5.5-inch HD display in a sleek and stylish metal unibody design. HD resolution display at the price point is still a letdown as there are cheaper offerings with full HD display. The fingerprint sensor is integrated in the front home button and works great. On the right side is the power key while the left side has the volume keys. The screen has great viewing angles and adds to the premium looks of the device with its slim bezels.

The Oppo F1s Diwali Limited Edition is a smart move by the company to cash-in on the Diwali festival craze in India. Moreover, it is launched at the same price as the standard edition F1s which makes it more attractive. In our review of the standard edition Oppo F1s we had mentioned that there was no true competitor to the F1s at that times.
