Panasonic competes with Dell in this segment which launched rugged notebooks last year.

\"With the industry moving towards unification of enterprise and carrier networks, we are offering all-inclusive solutions to different market segments. The new products build on the legacy of nearly two decades of rugged
devices<\/a> from Panasonic to accomplish the mission of professionals in the most demanding work environments,\" he added.

\nPanasonic launched 5-inch handheld tablets - Toughpad FZ-E1 and Toughpad FZ-X1 - which are damage-resistant to a drop of up to 10 feet on concrete and are dust and water proof as well. The tablets powered by 6200 mAh battery providing up to 14 hours of continuous use, also offer voice connectivity.

\nWhile the Toughpad FZ-E1 priced at Rs 1.19 lakh runs on Windows Embedded 8.1, the Toughpad FZ-X1 priced Rs 1.09 lakh runs on Android 4.2.2 operating system.

\nThe tablets are built for easy integration into existing IT infrastructures and for smooth deployments and ongoing support, thus providing organizations with longer life cycles, translating to lower total costs of ownership, the company said.

\nThe semi-rugged Toughbook CF-54, is the thinnest and lightest semi-rugged PC in its category, and comes packed with 5th Generation Intel CoreTM i5-5300U vProTM Processor. Priced at Rs 1.39 lakh, the Toughbook has been made for usage in the automotive diagnostic industry and field work, mainly for indoor maintenance.
