Nokia is currently supplying 5G equipment to
Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. It was previously providing just the wireline technology to the Mukesh Ambani-led telco, but has managed to bag a wireless deal from the telco along with Ericsson and Samsung. Together, Jio and Airtel have launched their 5G services in over 500 cities and towns.

India has also become the third largest country for Nokia for engagement in 6G standardisation. "India is the third largest market for us in terms of 6G work. The team has grown a lot and will grow further," the company’s Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, Nishant Batra, told ETTelecom recently.

India intends to play part in 6G development: Erik Ekudden, Ericsson CTO

“...what we've learned over the previous generations is that in order to get to this global adoption, global interoperability and global scale, we need to work together. India is already playing an important role in 5G and also understands the standardisation side. My indications are that India intends to continue to play an important role going into 6G,” Ekudden told ET.
