NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio<\/a> has started offering extra data with its 5G<\/a> Upgrade plan which is priced at Rs 61, the latest listing on telco’s website shows.

The Jio 5G Upgrade data plan<\/a> now offers 4GB extra data than earlier – a total of 10GB. This plan earlier offered 6GB data.

Jio, which has its True 5G<\/a> services live in over 3,000 cities, became the only telco in January this year to roll out a 5G-specific data pack for its subscribers priced at Rs 61.

The Jio Rs 61 ‘5G Upgrade’ data plan offers 6GB of high-speed data and will also enable users to enjoy 5G data. This data pack is applicable on Jio plans priced at Rs 119, Rs 149, Rs 179, Rs 199, and Rs 209.

Jio and Bharti Airtel are estimated to have already seen around 4% and 2.7% growth in their respective mobile data usage levels between October 2022 and March 2023, pushed by their fast-paced countrywide 5G rollouts and the heavier data guzzling patterns of 5G users, analysts and industry executives told ET.

Jio and Airtel have already rolled out 5G services in more than 3,630 and 3,500 cities\/towns, respectively. Airtel is targeting to launch 5G services in all urban areas by September 2023, while Jio expects to do that by the end of this month. Both companies are targeting pan-India 5G rollouts by December.
