The fraudsters contacted the woman in May on the pretext of updating her
3G<\/a> SIM card<\/a> to a 4G SIM. The suspects cloned her SIM card and siphoned off the amount into another bank account. The woman lodged an FIR with the Alankar police station on Thursday.

An officer from the Alankar police station said that on May 28, the complainant received a call from a man posing as an employee of the telecom company. The caller allegedly told her that she was using 3G SIM card and if she did not upgrade to a 4G SIM, her card would be blocked. \u201cThe caller then took details of the complainant and sent her a 20
digit number<\/a>. He then requested the woman to click on the number,\u201d the officer said.
