Top listed telcos — Bharti Airtel<\/a>, Idea Cellular<\/a> and Reliance Communications — are likely to report sharply lower earnings in a seasonally subdued quarter ended March 31, 2017, hit by the second full-quarter impact of Reliance Jio<\/a> Infocomm’s free services.\n
\nMarket leader Bharti Airtel<\/a> is likely to report a sharp on year fall in net profit while Idea and RCom are likely to report heavy losses in the fiscal fourth quarter.

The Q4 profit and consolidated revenue estimates are based on an ET Poll<\/a>, averaging the forecasts of eight brokerages (for Airtel and Idea) and six for RCom.

\nBrokerages also expect Airtel, Idea and RCom to report a steep fall in monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) in the January-March period as they reckon a sizeable chunk of their top-end customers opted for lower-value packs unveiled in response to Reliance Jio<\/a>’s Rs 303 Prime offer. Airtel will report its results on May 9, Idea on May 13, while RCom is yet to be decided.
