My belief is any solution should be at least regional, at least global, if not universal across the world,\u201d he said in a fireside session at the event.

Their comments come in reply to a question posed on Reliance Jio\u2019s approach to build 5G<\/a> in-house during ETTelecom\u2019s Digital Telco virtual summit.

\u201cWe have seen CDMA, which could not sustain for quite a long period of time. So it is important.. I'm sure RIL would be completely looking at as a global scale and what I strongly believe in participating and also leveraging the technology,\u201d said Rao.

Rakuten\u2019s Amin however said that there could be a possibility of technical collaboration with Jio for the development of network technologies in the 5G domain.

Jio recently said that it has built its end-to-end 5G network<\/a> stack which it intends to offer to global telcos after deploying in India across all circles. It is currently looking for partners to fully develop the 5G portfolio and will soon start discussions with various local players in the domain of system integration and local manufacturing of its 5G gear.

<\/div><\/div>\u201c\u2026for me, a strong belief is no one company has all the solutions for the challenges which the industry<\/a> is facing and the customers are needing,\u201d Rao said.

Rakuten, on the other hand, has developed its own platform, Rakuten Cloud Platform (RCP), which is essentially packaging its mobile network strategy into a product, which it wants to offer to global telecom operators, including those in India.

\u201cI find similarities between the organization [RIL and Rakuten] in many different ways...I always believe competition is a very healthy thing for everybody. But I also believe collaboration is very much possible,\u201d Amin said.

Speaking at the virtual summit, Robert Le Busque, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific at Verizon Business Group also said that understanding 5G mobile technology is incredibly important for the future of technology investments across the board including corporations and governments.

\"It's important to understand this technology in the context of the decisions they make around investment in infrastructure and cybersecurity as well as applications today to help them plan for the 5G future,\" Busque added.
