<\/figure>NEW DELHI: Realme<\/a> is expecting 25-30% year-on-year growth for its smartphone business in the 2020 calendar year despite losing a whole quarter due to Covid-led lockdown and supply chain disruptions.
\"We would have been far ahead in terms of smartphone sales compared to where we are today due to the Covid-led disruption. However, despite losing a whole quarter , we will still be growing 25-30% in 2020 in terms of smartphone shipments,\" Madhav Sheth<\/a>, Vice President, Realme and Chief Executive Officer, Realme India<\/a> & Europe told ET.
Realme sold 6.3 million smartphones<\/a> during the festive month till November 15. Sheth said that the brand is expected to sell 2.5 million more smartphones to take the overall figures to 8.5-9 million smartphones in the October-December quarter of 2020.<\/div><\/div>\"We expect to sell a total 3 million AIoT devices in the fourth quarter having sold 2 million units in the festive month,\" he added.
The top executive said that Realme has managed to increase average selling price (ASP) for smartphones to over Rs 11,000 up from Rs 8000-Rs 10,000. \"People are buying pricier Realme smartphones<\/a> in the market...Rs 1000-20,000 done extremely well for us.\"
Sheth said that Realme will focus more on Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000 price range starting January 2021. \"We want to be available at higher price points seeing the acceptance in the market.\"Read also<\/h3>

Realme was the fourth largest smartphone brand in October with 13.8% market share, up 48.2% year-on-year, as per IDC<\/a>'s monthly data.
Realme's non-smartphone business has grown significantly and is expected to contribute over 10% towards overall revenues for 2020. \"Our forecast for our IoT business will be much higher next year,\" Sheth said.
The executive said that Realme will go \"deeper and wider\" next year with its audio, wearable and smart TV portfolio. \"There will be a horizontal and vertical expansion next year, and we will expand our channel reach.\"<\/div><\/div>Realme will also foray into newer product categories in the first half of 2021. \"We want to enter all segments that can be turned into smart.\"
Sheth said that the supply chain disruption impacted all categories, including smart TVs. \"We had bigger plans for our smart TVs in 2020. We are still ramping up production in India.\"
Realme is still working to increase its production capacity, which is currently at 85-90%. \"This depends upon a lot of factors, including components and the broader supply chain since we source a lot of stuff from other countries. It will take some time to reach 100% capacity,\" Sheth said.
Sheth said that Realme didn't import smartphones during the festive season despite production related challenges in India. \"Whatever we sold was locally manufactured. Our stock to sale ratio is 95%. We sold almost everything except some old generation models.\"
