Fastway was the first to apply before the MC. The engineering wing of the authority has started giving them permission in a scattered manner even as it has sought the nod in one-go to enable it to start the work all-together.
“Although Airtel and Jio<\/a> had laid down cables underground earlier too and some areas were left that they want to dig to lay down all cables underground, Fastway had maximum cables overhead. As a result, their area is bigger. We have started giving permissions as we are getting request letters,” sources said.
Sources said Airtel has provided around 77-km route plan to the civic body, while Fastway has given a plan to dig areas in 250km to 300km to lay down underground cables.
