NEW DELHI: Telecom shares<\/a> were trading in the red in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Aksh Optifibre<\/a> (down 4.7 per cent) , Reliance Communications (down 3.9 per cent) , Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (down 3.11 per cent) , Tejas Network (down 2.34 per cent) , ITI (down 2 per cent) , Sterlite Technologies (down 1.37 per cent) , OnMobile Global (down 1.22 per cent) , GTPL Hathway (down 0.55 per cent) and Vodafone Idea (down 0.39 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Telecom index<\/a> was trading 0.12 per cent up at 1257.47 around 11:13 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 83.20 points at 12015.15 , while the BSE Sensex was down 247.78 points at 40,894.07.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.

Shares of ICICI Bank, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, SAIL, DLF, Motherson Sumi and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
