NEW DELHI: Telecom shares<\/a> were trading lower in Friday's session.

Shares of GTL Infrastructure (down 3.03 per cent) , HFCL Ltd (down 2.99 per cent) , Sterlite Technologies (down 2.93 per cent) , Aksh Optifibre (down 2.58 per cent) , Reliance Communications (down 2.41 per cent) , Vindhya Telelinks (down 1.58 per cent) , OnMobile Global (down 1.42 per cent) , ITI (down 1.05 per cent) , Vodafone Idea (down 0.91 per cent) , Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (down 0.58 per cent) and Bharti Airtel<\/a> (down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 0.01 per cent up at 1311.96 around 02:33PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 77.95 points at 9028.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 287.15 points at 30645.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries, SBI, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, BHEL, Tata Power, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
