Shares of Vodafone Idea<\/a> (up 2.7 per cent), GTL Infrastructure<\/a> (up 2.56 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (up 1.75 per cent), Optiemus Infracom (up 1.48 per cent) and OnMobile Global (up 0.34 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While ITI<\/a> (down 2.54 per cent), GTPL Hathway (down 1.91 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (down 0.76 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (down 0.45 per cent), Tejas Network (down 0.18 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 0.11 per cent) and Bharti Infratel Ltd (down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The S&P BSE Telecom index<\/a> was trading 0.03 per cent down at 1163.99 around 10:48 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 7.85 points at 12027.95 , while the BSE Sensex was up 17.08 points at 40,930.90.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea<\/a>, Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd., YES Bank, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Tata Motors, United Spirits, SAIL and Wockhardt were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
