Explaining why this currency crunch was inevitable, he said that recalibrating ATMs priorly without giving the game away was impossible.
Replying to allegations that the government's attitude was too cavalier and that keeping the new notes same in size as old ones could have saved the time needed for recalibration, Das said,\" We calculated that reducing the size of the note would help us print more notes in lesser time.\"
<\/div><\/div>\"The government has a clear road map. Every day, more and more ATMs are being recalibrated and being stuffed with new denomination notes. The problems that people are facing had been anticipated by the government well in advance,\" he said.
