“In terms of consumer sentiment, the demand post Covid is quite different. Due to multiple factors, consumers are now inclined more towards budget and mid-range smartphones. Realme observed the requirements and optimized the product strategy to meet emerging needs,” said Sheth.
He said Realme has become the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand. Sheth said Realme being an online centric brand, the company’s online sales<\/a> grew by around 45% in 2020 over the previous year.
The company is targeting sales of 6-8 million smartphones in the January to March quarter of the year. “We believe becoming a leader in the 5G smartphone market and becoming the leader in best user experience…2021 will be the year for Realme where we will get more new technologies for our users,” said Sheth.
Sheth said Realme is the only brand among top five brands to clock triple digit year-on-year growth of 101.55% in the key festive month of October 2020 as per researcher Counterpoint.
“We adjusted our sales target according to the market situation during the pandemic and have reached our target. Realme received a decent demand from the market, and we were able to cater to the market demand with our supply chain scaled up to 90%,” he said.
